GEMISCHTE TÜTE – PARENT NETWORK FOR CHILDREN WITH RARE DISEASES

The “gemischte Tüte” (Elternnetzwerk gemischte Tüte e. V.) was founded in Düsseldorf in 2021 by five mothers with a shared passion project. It is a regional network for parents of children with rare diseases or disabilities in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. Its aim is to help families support one another: by sharing experiences, exchanging honest advice on therapies, doctors, daycare centres and schools, and simply by being there for each other – in person and online. Although the symptoms may differ, the everyday challenges for parents are often very similar. The network also wants to raise public awareness of rare diseases in children.

Since 2024, EMO-TRANS Germany has been supporting the “gemischte Tüte”. Both the company and its employees follow the development of this initiative with great interest. The network has grown to around 250 families and has received several awards for its work, including the audience award of the German Engagement Prize (Deutscher Engagementpreis) in 2024.
