CETA Effective September 21

The Canada-European Union (EU) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) was first signed on October 30, 2016 and has now entered into force as of September 21, 2017. The Agreement removes tariffs on most traded goods and services and provides for the mutual recognition of a wide range of products in both markets. Everything from trade in goods and services, business mobility and investment to government procurement and technical barriers to trade is addressed, according to Caroline Charette, director of the CETA Secretariat within the Trade Policy Branch of Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
