U.S., Canada, and Mexico Suspend Steel and Aluminum Tariffs

On May 17, 2019, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced that a trade agreement has been reached with Canada and Mexico and as a result, the U.S. will remove Section 232 tariffs for steel and aluminum imports from Canada and Mexico. Additionally, Mexico and Canada will remove retaliatory tariffs imposed on U.S. origin goods exported to Canada and Mexico.
