We are seeing a significant slowdown at the Ports of New York/New Jersey due to traffic congestion at the port terminals. In addition to congestion that was already occurring, Tropical Storm Isaias caused closures and other impacts to terminal operations, leading to longer terminal processing times and equipment shortages.
EMO Trans is taking all possible measures to mitigate the impact of this congestion on our customers. Our agreement with our CFS (container freight station) allows us to recover on first day of container availability, which we believe will help improve overall transit times.
