Cold Weather Adversely Affecting Train Operations

Due to severe cold weather conditions in its Canadian and U.S. Midwest rail network, CN Rail has announced the implementation of train length restrictions to ensure safe operations when cold temperatures fall below -25C.

Shorter trains may mean reduced weekly capacity. At this time, the weather outlook predicts that the Arctic cold will last another 5-7 days in key areas, and delays may be experienced.
